Vida y obra El joven David Hume marchó a Francia (1734-1737) para dedicarse a la filosofía y la literatura. De regreso en Escocia, intentó sin éxito ingresar en la Universidad de Edimburgo, y luego desempeñó en el extranjero el cargo de secretario del general Saint Clair.
